The problem
The region must select a set of investment projects to build a 25 year investment schedule. Selection and scheduling must respect the importance of the projects, their readiness and the financial constraints. The production of this calendar is difficult given multitudes of administrative and logistical constraints that the manager has to deal with.
The approach
MELIORE reviewed the process of decision making. Subsequently, MELIORE proposed a mathematical model within the administrative constraints to maximize citizen satisfaction. The model produced an optimal investment schedule.
The benefits
The region was able to quickly generate multiple scenarios of optimal investment schedules while maximizing the use of public funds.
